The other day while my partner was playing Skyrim, she happened upon a quest that mentioned a character called Elisif.
She had no idea who this Elisif was, never mind where she could be found in Skyrim. So, once again, I played the role of Skyrim encyclopedia extraordinaire and explained who Elisif is, why she’s important in the game, and where to find her.
Beth, my partner, immediately pointed out to me that she was probably not the only one asking these questions. So she twisted my arm into writing this short article.
Before I jump into the details, here’s a quick answer: Elisif is Jarl of Solitude. She lives in the Blue Palace in the Hold of Solitude. In the Blue Palace, Elisif can be found either in her throne room or her bedroom, depending on the time of day you arrive.

Who is Elisif
Elisif, a Nord woman, is the Jarl of Solitude and the last known descendant of Tiber Septim.
She is also the wife of High King Torygg and mother to Prince Torygg. Elisif takes over as Jarl of Solitude after Ulfric Stormcloak kills her husband.
Elisif is an essential character in Skyrim because she helps the player with many quests, including one that leads to a primary quest line. She also helps with the Civil War quest line, which is very important for completing Skyrim’s main story as it can affect how the player progresses through the game.
She is also a member of the Imperial Legion.
Where to Find Elisif in Skyrim
Elisif is the Jarl of Solitude and can be found in the Blue Palace.
To find Elisif in Skyrim, you must head to Solitude and enter the Blue Palace. You will find her in the throne room.
This section will provide a walkthrough on how to find Elisif in Skyrim.
The first step is to head to Solitude, which can be found in the northwest of Skyrim. To get there, look on your map for a hold called Solitude, set a marker, and start walking. Or you can pay a few gold coins and use a horse-drawn coach to get to Solitude.
Horse-drawn coaches can be found outside any major hold in the game.
The next step is to find the Blue Palace, located at the far end of Solitude. So once you arrive at the front entrance of Solitude, enter, then head all the way to the back of Solitude, towards the southeast.
You know when you’ve found the Blue Palace because the roof of the Palace is covered in blue slate.
Enter through the Palace’s central doorway. When you are inside, take the stairs up to the first floor. Once on the first floor, if it’s daytime, you should find Elisif sitting on her throne debating with several of her subjects. Once she has stopped the debate, you’ll be able to talk to her.
You’ll find Elisif sleeping in one of the bedrooms if it’s nighttime.
